    Jul 1, 2008, Youth international basketball tournament win for France U20 in Turkey

    Youth international basketball success for France U20 in Istanbul. Despite losing to the hosts France finished first with victories against Spain and Russia.

    Jun 29, 2008, Australia U18 win at Fougères

    Australia leave France on a high after beating Lithuania (58-44) to claim the title for the second time.

    They won the title in 2000 and remain unbeaten in Fougères.

    Turkey beat Romania (81-56) to claim second place.

    Jun 28, 2008, France U16 win Trophée Jacques Dorgambide

    France U16 2008 France beat Sweden (66-40) to remain unbeaten, while Turkey beat Poland (104-64).

    Turkey were beaten by France on the opening day and finally finished in second position.

    Poland finished third and Sweden last.

    Jun 15, 2008, FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament final match: Brazil beat Cuba


    Brazil have won the last ticket for the Olympics after a holding off Cuba (72-67)

    The two teams were tied (65-65) with 55 seconds to play in the final period.

    "Micaela" Martins Jacintho led the scoring for Brazil with 22 points, with her last points coming from the foul-line 12 seconds from the end of that match.

    ElisaAguilarSpain have qualified for the Olympics after beating Cuba(82-68) to qualify for the Olympics. Elisa Aguilar (left) hit 6-of-10) from beyond the arc as she led all scoring with 28 points.

    Spain led at the interval (39-35).Elisa Aguilar was leading the scoring with 11 points and Cindy Lima has 7 boards.

    For Cuba Yelizeny Plutin has is leading all scoring with 14 points.

    Brazil beat Spain (71-68) to win Group C.

    Latvia hold off Japan (83-69) to win Group A.

    Belarus leave it late before putting away China Taipei (81-65).

    Czech Republic controlled the pace of the game to beat Angola (86-54)

    The quarter-final matches will be played on Friday 13 June in Madrid. The games will also be on available on television in most of the countries.

    Spain had little trouble in beating Fiji in the opening match.
    Spain 113-42 Fiji

    In the second match Cuba were made to work in the first half before overcoming China Taipei.
    China Taipei 79-96 Cuba

    Latvia blow Senegal away with disciplined display in the third match.
    Latvia 94-34 Senegal

    In the final game of the evening the Czech Republic put down Argentina after a strong third period.

    Jun 1, 2008, NF1 championship title goes to Basket Landes while Anaïs Le Gluher is MVP of the final four

    Basket Landes are NF1 champions 2007-2008

    In a hard fought match Marion Laborde made the winning shot for Basket Landes to take the victory against Nantes Rezé (63-61).

    Both sides were playing cat and mouse and the game was only decided with the last three-pointer by Laborde whereas Charleville encountered the same problems with Armentières and also only won by 1 point (67-66).

    NF1 posterIn the last quarter of the semi-finals Basket Landes have come from behind to beat Charleville (64-55). They held their opponents scoreless for seven minutes while scoring 13 points to set up their victory.

    USVO and USAPH-HH

    The new name of the club that will be coached by Fabrice Courcier is "Union Hainaut Basket" (UHB).

    All domestic games will be played in Saint Amand while the EuroLeague Women games will be played in Valenciennes.
