    The FIBA Europe U18 European Championship Women is ready to tip off.

    The Division A competition is held in Sweden while the Division one is in Israel.

    It is very unlikely that many games from both championships will be streamed live on the internet. However some of the games from the hosts may be shown on local television.

    France U20 started the youth international basketball season started with three wins in France. They travelled to Turkey and beat Russia and the hosts before falling to Spain.

    After an epic battle against Russia France take the victory (57-53) and the title for the 2009 edition of EuroBasket Women.

    Top scorers for France were Sandrine Gruda and Emmeline Ndongue with 12 and 11 points respectively.

    Jun 20, 2009, EuroBasket Women - Spain win Bronze while Greece qualifies for the World Championship

    The last day of the 2009 EuroBasket women will begin with three classification games before the final this evening.

    Spain win beat Belarus in the match for brone (63-56)

    Greece trailed by as many as 11 points but with Evanthia on fire, they pulled through to win fifth place (60-56)

    Latvia finish strongly and beat the Slovak Republic (67-59) with Sabine Niedola leading the way with 16 points and 11 rebounds...

    All games will be streamed live by FIBA Europe and will also be available at various media outlets around the world.

    France beat Belarus (64-59) while Russia cruised past Spain (77-61) to qualify for the the final.

    Ainars Zvirgzdin will step down as head coach from Latvia after the final game for 7th place tomorrow.

    Italy beat Latvia (68-66) in overtime. Greece beat the Slovak Republic (59-64).

    France beat Greece (51-49) in a dramatic finish to qualify for the semi-final.

    Greece beat the Slovak Republic in a dramatic finish (59-57.

    The Czech Republic beat Poland (82-68) and as a result both teams are defeated from EuroBasket Women 2009.

    Evanthia Maltsi scored 24 points as Greece beat the Czech Republic (62-45).

    Spain beat Poland (67-55) after trailing by 8 points at the interval.

    The Slovak Republic beat hosts Latvia 78-69 in the last match of the evening.

    Jun 13, 2009, Tournoi de Fougeres 2009 - Australia and France in final

    France beat Australia last weekend in the final at Reze (76-64).

    Australia had lost the final at Reze last year but then had beaten the same opponents, Lithuania and the eventual U18 European champions in the final of Fougeres.

    Australia are looking to repeat the same exploit this year.

    Rachal Jerry from Australia has been playing well and will be hoping to maintain the Australian tradition later today.

    Australia have won this tournament on both occasions that they participated.

    The coach from Latvia is the mother of Latvian international Liene Jansone.

    The Czech Republic leave it late

    Serbia and Ukraine are the first teams to pack their bags from EuroBasket Women 2009 after suffering their third consecutive defeats against Turkey (77-79) and against the Czech Republic (55-65) respectively.

    Elisa Aguilar and Anna Montanana combine for 45 points as Spain beat the Slovak Republic (71-54) to top Group A.

    Raffaella Masciadri leads Italy against Belarus (67-58) with 20 points.

    Despite from 30 points by Liron Cohen from Israel France remain perfect with a (73-70) victory.

    France struggled in their second game in the EuroBasket Women 2009 event in Latvia. Overtime was required to beat 2007 bronze medallist Belarus.

    France won against China(86-39) with 22 points coming from Allison Verneray.

    The 32nd edition of the EuroBasket Women tips off today, 7 June 2009 in Latvia.

    The event will end on Saturday, 20 June 2009, with the final match in the Arena Riga Sports Hall.

    33 countries in Europe, 8 in Asia and 28 in Africa have signed up with FIBA Europe to broadcast the matches live.

    However if you are unable to watch the games you can sign up for a EuroBasket Women 2009 pass for 11 Euro and watch the games at your leisure.
