A 12th round in LF2
that takes two months

For four teams the LF2 Christmas break did not last long as they played their 12th round of games during the first weekend of 2014. Dunkerque Malo lost at home in overtime to Léon Trégor while Roche Vendée blew past Chartres.

In the three games from this round played earlier in the season, Illkirch-Graffenstaden (SIG) had had the pleasure of beating Charnay Basket (76-50) with 17 points coming from Amélie Voynet. Le Havre however had scrambled their victory against the CFBB (58-57) while Pau Lacq-Orthez (Mourenx) had beaten Aix-en-Provence (71-65).

With the wins for the SIG and Mourenx, it has established them as strong canditates for a top 4 finish.

The 12th round officially came to an end on 8 January 2014 with Reims losing (60-75) to the leaders COB Calais and Limoges continuing their winning strike by beating Perpignan Basket (79-72).

Aminator Nar Diop

Roche Vendée are back on top of LF2 until 8 January when Calais play their next game. They dominated their opponents Chartres during the second half of the game to win by a comfortable margin (81-58). Five players finished with more than 12 points with Senegalese international  Aminata Nar Diop (in picture) scoring the most with 17 points. Sabrina Bouzenna's passing radar was working as she finished the game with 7 assists.

Dunkerque led Léon Trégor for most of the game but ended up losing at home in overtime (84-86). Amélie Pochet (28 points) split a pair of free throws in the last few seconds to ice the victory.

However the hero was Yar Shayok on the defensive end with a block on the buzzer against Taylor Kerr (24 points) that prevented the game going into double overtime.

Léon Trégor move into 5th place in the LF2 regular season table while Dunkerque find themselves in the relegation zone.
