Sarah Ousfar plays her club basketball at Basket Landes. She has been a first team member since last season (2011-2012). However it was with the Espoir team in NF2 that she has become one of the best players from her generation.

Sarah Ousfar has come a long way since we first saw her play in 2005. At that time she was playing for Anglet Côte Basque Basket. She was quick and strong which made up for her lack of coordination.
However she was lucky enough to be selected for her region and represent the south west of France. This exposure to other coaches helped her in progressing.
wbbif lost track of Ousfar after 2005 but she continued to shine and played in the French national championships with Mourenx.
She joined the Basketball Academy at Basket Landes in 2008 and was soon back on our radar screen with an appearance in the French U18 Cup final defeat against Bourges Basket at Paris Bercy in 2009.
However Paris Bercy was to be the venue of Ousfar's rise to the top of youth basket with Basket Landes beating Bourges Basket (58-56) in the final. Ousfar was the MVP of the match with a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds.
However one accolade was missing in Ousfar's achievements and that was to represent France in a major championship. She had only been involved in training camps at U17 and U18 level but had never been selected to play with the French youth team.
In 2011 after missing out during the selection process she was quoted as saying "that next time I will make it".
Sarah Ousfar has always been positive and does not let setbacks keep her down for long, picking herself up from injury and reworking her game. So setting objectives for 2012 were simple: gain her high school diploma (Baccalaureate) and play for France U20.
In the classroom she worked hard while on the basketball court she had the best season (2011-2012) of her career. She passed her high school exam and represented France at the U20 European Championship.
Furthermore Ousfar was to become the star of our picture of the summer.
Ousfar's progress is an example of how the youth development programme in France works. She was discovered early and has gone through all the steps to become one of the best players from the 1993 generation in France.
This season (2012-13) the return of Valériane Ayayi to Basket Landes from the CFBB means that Ousfar is going to have to work even harder to get any time on the court with the first team.
