Jean-Louis Monneret, the president of Arras, made the basketball news headlines on Monday, 8 October 2012 by asking the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) for a replay of the match Bourges Basket vs. Arras.
wbbif reported as basketball news that in the match between Bourges Basket and Arras that Arras had only seven players.
It was not clear at the time why Arras' roster was reduced because there was no information of injuries.
Katerina Dorogobuzoba had been released from her contract with Arras before the second game of the season and was officially replaced by Radoslava Bachvarova two days before the game against Bourges Basket took place.
According to the information received she was not cleared to play due to the club's budget. However Monneret explained it was not possible to explode the budget because Bachvarova's contract was just for three months, while Dorogobuzoba had been signed for one year.
However the main problem for Arras was the sudden non-qualification of Ines Ajanovic (in picture), who had played in the first two games of the season.
Ajanovic who made the trip to Bourges was on the bench for the match. When she was eventually cleared to play the match had already started.
Arras lost the match and Monneret used the local press to express his anger of the whole situation.
Although it is unlikely the match is to be replayed, the question arises what would the president have had to say if Arras had won the match.
