Romane Bernies is playing basketball
for the third best club in Europe

In September 2012 we had written an article which was titled Playing basketball at Bourges Basket helps Romane Bernies in getting stronger.

Since her participation in the 2012 U20 European championship Bernies has been working hard on her drives to the right and step-back jump shot and now has a full arsenal of finishing moves which she is able to use with the first team of Bourges.

The womensbasketball-in-france (wbbif) young player of the month for March is Romane Bernies, only the third player from the Bourges Academy to move into the professional team, who has confirmed the potential within her team.

On the final day of the 2013 EuroLeague Women Final 8, Bernies scored 10 points in 18 minutes to help Bourges to win the third place match.

By the end of this game all the attention was on Bernies. Even Céline Dumerc had to answer questions about Bernies in the post-game interviews.

In just one match Bernies is now an outside shot at the 2013 WNBA draft.

Yet the status has not changed for the graphic design student/point guard.

She is used to be playing basketball under pressure. Any time she has the chance to express herself on the court, she does it.

However with all the injury problems in Bourges all her efforts have been finally recognised by the basketball community.

Apart from her exploits in the EuroLeague campaign she has been playing well in the Ligue Féminine de Basketball. Hence she takes our last young player award of the season.
