FIBA Europe youth basketball draw 2012
U16 European Championships for Women
Division A, Division B, Division C groups


In the summer of 2012, FIBA Europe will be organising three European youth basketball tournaments in the U16 age group for girls born on and after 1 January 1996.

The top 16 nations in Europe which include France will play in the European Championship for Women Division A tournament from 12 until 22 July in Miskolc in Hungary. At the same time 15 other nations will participate in the Division B event in Tallinn Estonia.

A third European Championship, called the Division C championship, will be held in Gibraltar on a date yet to be decided.

As France finished in 7th place in the European Championship 2011 they missed out on qualifying for the U17 World Championship.

Spain picked up their sixth Division A title and will be joined by Belgium, Italy, Turkey and Greece at the 2012 U17 World Championship for Women.

Poland and Finland lost their place in the top division and have been replaced by England and Germany.

The draw for the summer youth basketball events have been made and the groups are as follows:
