France dominated four nation youth international basketball in Troyes



Grégory Halin added three more victories to his youth international basketball record as France dominated their opponents in Troyes.

Allison VernereyFrance had a comfortable victory against Italy (64-49) with Allison Vernerey (left) leading the scoring with 16 points. Aminata Konate was the only other French player in double digits with 11 points.

France's next match was against Div B promotion aspirant Latvia. France made light work of Latvia and ran out winners (91-44) with Vernerey dominating the scoring with 23 points. Four other French players finished in double-digits: Isabelle Strunc (14), Bettina Kadila (11), Diandra Tchatchouang (11), and Pauline Thizy (10).

France had played a friendly match against the Slovak Republic during the week prior to the tournament and won (61-59) with Vernerey hitting the winning shot.

In the final match of the tournament France were given a good workout by the team from the Slovak Republic. Pauline Thizy scored 20 points for France as they won the match (58-49).

The preparation for France continues this weekend as they travel to Lithuania for their final preparation before heading off to Slovakia for the U18 Div A European Championship.

In the other games the Slovak Republic beat Latvia (71-56) and won against Italy (70-51). Italy left Latvia with the wooden spoon after beating them (67-53).

The French U18 Roster for the U18 European Championship Women Division A was confirmed after the Rezé international tournament.
