"Espoirs féminins": Bourg-en-Bresse


The clock is ticking for the international youth basketball players fighting for selection in the U20 age group. Traditionally after the Tournoi international de basket ball "Espoirs féminins" in Bourg-en-Bresse the final selection is made.

Last year Alain Jardel started with 15 players and finished with his final 12.

France who will be defending the trophy they won in 2010 and will face Germany, Romania and Russia during the three-day basketball festival.

Germany who played in the competition last year will be coming with the following 12 players: Svenja Brunckhorst, Sarah-Marie Frankenberger, Julia Gaudermann, Sonja Greinacher, Emina Karic, Julia Kohlmann, Laura Masek, Jenny Menz, Jule Muegge, Finja Schaake, Judith Schmidt, Christina Schnorr.

The make-up of the teams from Romania and Russia have not been communicated at the time of writing this article.

Priscilla Lokoka © womensbasketball-in-france.com  The French roster has not changed much with injuries ending the hopes of Margaux Okou Zouzouo and Marion Arfelis. Priscilla Lokoka (right) and Marion Pujo were released after the first training camp.

The four-nation tournament in Bourg-en-Bresse will be played between the 25 June and 27 June 2011. All the teams play each once with the winner being the team that finishes top of the table.

On Friday and Saturday the games will be played at 18:00 and 20:30 while on Sunday the games will be played at 13:30 and 15:30. France always play in the later game.

Friday: Russia vs. Romania, France vs. Germany
Saturday: Germany vs. Russia, Romania vs. France
Sunday: Germany vs. Romania, France vs. Russia
