U20 International youth basketball in Bourg-en-Bresse


 Allison Vernerey © womensbasketball-in-france.comAlain Jardel's youth basketball preparation did not start well with Allison Vernerey (pictured) having to be replaced by Anäis Vaile from Aix-en-Provence due to injury.

Clémentine Samson, another player from Avenir de Rennes, was also drafted into the training roster after the initial list.

Jardel will use 15 players in this tournament and then be naming his final roster.

The dream of playing for France this season is already over for Kelly Corre, Mélissa Micaletto, Wilka Montout and Lauraine Tony who have been released from the original training roster. None of these players have played for France in a major competition.

For Myriam Igoufe, her omission comes as no surprise due to her rehabilitation programme.

Vaile, Samson and Isabelle Strunc have not been called up for this tournament.

The rosters for Bulgaria and Poland have not been released at the time of writing this report.
