Women playing basketball in Bourges
have to cope with much pressure

For the women playing basketball for Bourges Basket, it is never easy. The club has dominated French Basketball for over a decade alongside the now defunct USVO.

Anaël Lardy © womensbasketball-in-france.com Pierre Vincent concluded his recruiting quickly and confirmed his LFB roster in May.

Vincent and six players from the club were involved in the FIBA World Championship for Women which had delayed the pre-season training for the LFB players of Bourges.

Anaël Lardy (left) who is in her second season, Nwal-Endéné Miyem and club captain Emméline Ndongue were all part of the French team that won EuroBasket Women in 2009 and won sixth place at the world championship.

They and their team-mates will try to regain the LFB championship title this season while they should have a good run in the EuroLeague Women competition.

At the same time they will be defending the French Cup.

The two players who left the club, Ana Lelas and Katarina Manic, will continue to play basketball in France for Lattes-Montpellier and Basket Landes respectively.

The LFB roster is: Anaël Lardy, Maja Miljkovic, Nwal-Endéné Miyem, Margaux Galliou Loko, Styliani Kaltsidou, Jennifer Digbeu, Cathy Joens, Paoline Salagnac, Emméline Ndongue, Ilona Burgrova.
