Limoges NF1 basketball season is going well as they move into second place

Roche Vendée continue to dominate the NF1 basketball season as they managed to outscore Illkirch-Graffenstaden (70-67).

The match was close throughout and went down to the wire with Sylvaine Grelier scoring the winning basket from beyond the arc with about 40 seconds left to play.

Roche Vendeé not only consolidated their position as leaders but also added a new line to the SIG history book as the first team to beat them on their own court in NF1.

Flore Perotto scored 32 points but Limoges won the match

Flore Perotto (No. 9 above) is well known for her exploits in the LFB with Montpellier.

She almost wrote another page in her history book as she scored 32 points including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc, dished out 7 assists, made 4 steals and even led her side in rebounds with 5.

However this was not enough for Colomiers who were playing at home to hold off Limoges.

Limoges have two players that have played in the LFB recently with Marie-Frédérique Ayissi and Maryska Kowalik who combined for 40 points.

Limoges were also handicapped for the second half of the match with the injury to Jeanne Senghor.

Limoges were leading (48-38) at the interval and had more bad luck when Johanna Tayeau picked up a knock.

Perotto used all her experience into drawing fouls in order to bring her side back into the game. All the same Limoges went into the final period ahead (68-61).

Limoges struggled but with Kowalik (23 points) scoring and Ayissi (18 points and 11 rebound) holding the rebound, Limoges found the energy and resource to outscore their hosts in the final period to win the match (91-76).

With this victory Limoges move into second place.

No Basquetebol TV this year but Nice have won

When Nice played Armentières last season, our colleagues from Basquetebol.org streamed the match live as they experimented with the idea of NF1 live basketball.

This season there were no cameras for live coverage. What a pity as Nice went on the attack and led (13-3) with less than five minutes of the game clock.

Nice held on to the advantage until the end of the first period (19-10).

Armentières came out fighting early in the second quarter to reduce their deficit to 2 points. Then they fell away allowing their hosts and Silvana Mirvic (who returned from injury) to go into the locker room leading (36-28).

Nice went to sleep during the third period and found themselves trailing (42-51) going into the final quarter. Then they went on a 12-0 run to regain the lead. They held on to win (63-58).

Johanne Gomis with 16 points and Melissa Micaletto with 15 points led the scoring for the home side.
