Colomiers have been learning about NF1 basketball the hard way.

They acquired Flore Perotto with the hope that her experience in the LFB will help the club and make the transition from NF2 basketball to that played in Nationale Féminine 1.

After a series of defeats the club made changes and Irena Spirkova who also worked at the club left Colomiers.

The club then signed two new players: Rosalee Mason, a GB international and 2:03 m Lithuanian Kristina Cesnaviciute.

In the three games played since their arrival they have won just 1-of-3. So this weekend's game against Pleyber-Christ was important because the prize for losing was 16th place in the table.

Nathalie Billaud scored the first points of the game after only 12 seconds. Yet Colomiers were unable to make use of their height advantage and control of the boards to trail (18-19) going into the second quarter.

The lead changed several times with Pleyber-Christ holding on to the lead (26-25).

However Colomiers finally got into their stride and finished with an (11-0) run to go into the interval ahead (36-26).

Colomiers continued to dominate the boards and Perotto provided assist after assist. But they were not able to extend their advantage.

To the relief of the home supporters Colomiers held on to win (84-74).

Cesnaviciute finished with a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists while Mason scored 15 points.

With this victory, only the fourth of the season, Colomiers move up to 12th place.

What happened elsewhere in the NF1 basketball world

Limoges go three games clear at the top of the division after an easy victory against Ifs (83-59).

Their closest rival Roche Vendée fell at home (87-90) to Strasbourg ABC in overtime.

NF1 basketball overtime champion so far this season is Armentières.

They required an extra five minutes to overcome US Laveyron in a dramatic fashion.

With seven seconds to go in overtime Perrine Demet hit two free-throws to give Armentières a 3-point lead.

With the clock running down Kalia Papadopoulou had no choice but to fire off a shot from beyond the arc which she managed.

In addition she drew the foul on Rachel Coumba.

She needed to hit all three free-throws to take the game into double overtime but she only hit two which allowed Armentières to win (74-73).

Illkirch-Graffenstaden was hoping to end the year on a high with a victory against Charleville-Mézières.

They went into the break leading (32-29) but lost the lead early in the third period (34-32) as Céline Fromholz and Carine Contessi hit back to back baskets.

Charleville-Mézières continued to press their opponents and went into the final period in front (55-44) to pace themselves to victory (73-72).

Irene Herradas has finally adapted to NF1 basketball and had her best match for Charleville-Mézières and led the scoring with 18 points. The Belgium international Dana Boonen was hurt during the match.

Charleville's 100 travelling supporters left happy as their side is in joint second position. The SIG drop to fifth position.

Dunkerque bounced back from their defeat against the CFBB last week to beat Nice (80-76), while the CFBB continued their revival with a victory against Rennes (89-81).
