Michele Van Gorp added to Nantes-Rezé LFB team roster



Michele Van Gorp © WNBAMichele Van Gorp is back in basketball and has been included to the LFB team roster of Nantes-Rezé.

She is replacing Tiffani Williams who has already been released from her contract.

Van Gorp had a successful college basketball career with Purdue and then Duke. She led Duke to their very first NCAA finals and was inducted into the school hall of fame in 2002.

She was a second-round WNBA pick in 1999 and has played in the WNBA with New York, Portland and Minnesota. A stress fracture suffered in 2004 was eventually put a stop to her professional career.

In Europe she also played for Panathinakos (Greece), Parma (Italy), CJM Bourges (France), Dynamo Moscow (Russia) and Ros Casares Valencia (Spain).

While playing for Bourges she won the EuroLeague Women in 2000.

While recovering from her injury Van Gorp has been involved in coaching first in high school and more recently in women college basketball.

She is on trail with Nantes and will make her début in a friendly match against Reims.
