COB Calais are now fighting for LFB survival

Bourges Basket © LFB Bourges Basket's position on top of the LFB is looking more assured after a comfortable home victory against Basket Landes (87-58).

The suspense lasted just four minutes (10-10) and then Bourges blew away Basket Landes with a four-minutes 19-0 run. They went into the second quarter leading (29-16).

It was one-way traffic the rest of the way with all the players from Bourges getting onto the score sheet. Cathy Joens led the way with 6-of-9 from behind the arc for her 18 points.

Tarbes once again went to sleep in the final quarter and just held off Villeneuve d'Ascq (74-68).

Pauline Jannault-Lo © LFB Pauline Jannault-Lo (right) came up with her best game of the season scoring 29 points, hitting 4-of-7 from behind the arc, while Jelena Dubljevic added 18 points and 6 assists.

For Villeneuve d'Ascq Adrijana Knezevic had a perfect shooting day with 7-of-7 from the field for 14 points.

Montpellier were given a scare in the first half against Union Hainaut and trailed (24-34) heading into the locker room.

Montpellier, more focused in the second half, only conceded 11 points in the last 20 minutes while scoring 35 points to win this LFB game (59-45).

Nantes-Rezé pulled off the biggest win of the evening in crushing Challes-les-Eaux (84-57) while Mondeville beat Toulouse (74-53).

The best LFB match of the evening was between Aix-en-Provence and COB Calais.

The first four minutes belonged to Aix-en-Provence (14-2). But they were unable to hold the advantage and saw it drop to 3 points by the end of the first quarter (25-22).

The fireworks continued during the second quarter with Aix gaining the upper hand (48-36) at half time.

Calais fought tooth and nail during the last 20 minutes. With two seconds left to play they trailed by just 2 points.

Olesia Malashenko © LFB Calais went for the quick foul to stop the clock. Yet by the time Manon Sinico was called for the foul on Natalie Hurst the game clock was practically on zero.

Hurst split the free throw for the final victory (76-73).
