Teams are stepping up in the
EuroLeague Women


Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are currently setting the EuroLeague Women alight with perfect starts to the season.

Fenerbahçe got past MKB Euroleasing (89-72) in an exciting Group C encounter. For MKB, this was the first defeat in the competition.

The first quarter was an offensive festival with Fenerbahçe taking it (31-21).

Diana Taurasi led the scoring with 26 points. She also connected four times from beyond the arc. However she lost out to Penny Taylor for the player of the match.

Taylor scored 16 points and collected 12 rebounds.

Angel McCoughtry scored 19 points for MKB. After the match Norbert Szekely, the coach from MKB, explained that his players made too many mistakes against an experienced team.

In the other game from the same group UMMC Ekaterinburg ran out winners against Rivas Ecópolis (76-54).

Sylvia Fowles © womensbasketball-in-france  Galatasaray MP bounced back from last week's defeat to beat VICI Aistes (82-58). Sylvia Fowles compiled a double double of 18 points and 11 rebounds to help the Turkish club secure the victory.

In the rest of Group C action, Tarbes fell at home to Halcon Avenida (72-77) despite the 24 points of Jelena Dubljevic.

ZVVZ USK Prague recorded their first victory (73-72) against Sparta&K Moscow Region, Vidnoje.

Eva Vitecková and DeLisha Milton-Jones led USK with 22 points each.


Despite Bourges Basket having conceded more than 70 points in two consecutive games they came up on top with an (82-72) victory against Orenburg Nadezhda.

Nwal-Endéné Miyem © womensbasketball-in-france  Nwal-Endéné Miyem (right) led the scoring with 20 points.

Styliani Kaltsidou and Emméline Ndongue scored 17 and 13 points each as well as collecting 10 rebounds. Anaël Lardy also finished in double digits with 13 points.

Tina Charles led the guests with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Ros Casares are alone on top of Group D after getting past Beretta-Famila Schio (76-67).

Ros Casares took control of the game with a third-quarter blitz.

Rebekkah Brunson led the way for Casares with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Marta Fernandez also scored 20 points.

In the only game in Group A, TTT Riga fell at home to Good Angels Kosice (60-77). Charde Houston fired in a game high 27 points for the winners.

The remaining three games were played the following day.
