EuroLeague Women 2009 final four will be played in Spain



FIBA Europe have announced that the hosts for the EuroLeague Women 2009 final four will be Spanish club side Perfumerías (Halcon) Avenida, Salamanca.

This will be the second major basketball event hosted by the club this season.

They are also hosting the Copa de la Reina (Queen's Cup) between Friday, 6 March 2009 and Sunday, 8 March 2009.

The EuroLeague final four will be played in the first weekend of April 2009 with the semi-finals held on Friday, 3 April 2009, the third place and final match on Sunday, 5 April 2009.

The final four will be shown on television and streamed on the internet by Eurosport 2 who have acquired the broadcasting rights for the end of season showcase.

The final four is scheduled to tip off at 15:00 central European time (13:00 GMT).

The hosts Halcon Avenida will play Hungarian side MKB EuroLeasing in the first semi-final.

In the other semi-final two-times defending champions Spartak Moscow Region from Russia will face 2003 winners UMMC Ekaterinburg also from Russia.
