Zuzanna Klimesova taking a break from basketball Zuzanna Klimesova will be taking a break from the work of professional basketball to have a baby. It was officially announced by the club that she will not be playing anymore due to the fact that she is expecting her first child. Klimesova has been pounding the boards in France since 2003 and has acquired a big fan club in the LFB. She is the lady with the big smile and her trademark step back three-point jumper. Klimesova has had a wonderful basketball career. She went to university in America and spent four seasons playing NCAA basketball with Vanderbilt University between 1998-2002. At the end of her college career she was drafted by the Indiana Fever in the WNBA. She played in the WNBA for two seasons but unfortunately suffered more then her fair share of injuries and has not returned to this league since 2003. She then came to France and based herself in the Northen part of it. Klimesova spent her first two seasons with COB Calais (2003-2005). Afterwards she decided to drop down a division and play for ASPTT Arras. She helped Arras win the NF1 title in her first season. And last season as a key player with Arras surprised most of the teams in the LFB and pulled off a memorable victory against Bourges Basket. This season Klimesova decided to join LFB newcomers SJS Reims. Although only 28 years old she, alongside the captain Marie-Laure Fleury-Kindoki are the oldest players in a young side. The highlight for the season was their victory against USVO where Klimesova's screen opened the route for Mia Fisher to score the winning shot. Klimesova retired from international basketball after the world championship in 2006. She had played in the Olympics in 2004. The highlight of her international career was the gold medal she won with the Czech Republic at Eurobasket 2005. She was also a member of the silver winning squad of 2003.
