The 2009-2010 NF1 basketball season is almost over
The NF1 basketball final four will be hosted by Charleville-Mézières, who will meet Lyon BF in the second semi-final. Union Hainaut Basket and Roche Vendeé play in the other semi-final.
Illkirch-Graffenstaden lost at home to Dunkerque Malo (62-65) and ended their hope of qualifying for the NF1 final four.
Lyon BF's victory against Pleyber-Christ (90-71) secured the last play-off spot. Géraldine Bertal and Mélanie Arnaud fired in 20 and 16 points each, while American Candyce Sellars contributed 15 points in the victory.
Roche Vendeé have secured third place with a hard fought victory (60-55) against Voiron. The general manager of Voiron and former coach Laurence Lemarchand-Clauss put on her basketball shoes and came out to play for Voiron.
Despite the defeat Voiron will remain in the second division next season.
CSP Rezé, Charnay-lès-Mâcon and US Laveyron all lost this weekend and will now join Tours in the relegation zone.
Charnay-lès-Mâcon lost on the road to leaders Charleville-Mézières (60-90), while US Laveyron fell at home (62-63). CSP Rezé also lost at home (47-72) to Reims.
Nice BC 06 beat the CFBB (90-61) while Union Hainaut Basket thrashed Tours (TVL) (95-38).
The NF regular season will come to an end next weekend, 8 May 2010.
