Can Montpellier qualify for the
LFB championship play-offs?

Lattes Montpellier's LFB qualification is in their hands after beating Tarbes (63-55) in a match they could not afford to lose.

Tarbes got off to a better start with the first 5 points coming form Pauline Lo and Roneeka Hodges.

Virginie Bremont © LFB Montpellier did not panic and went in the lead for good (12-11) with just over seven minutes played in the first quarter. They led by 12 points going into the interval (39-12).

Tarbes fought back during the second half. With three minutes left to play they trailed (55-59). But Virginie Bremont (in picture) controlled the rebounds and scored the last points of the match to secure the victory.

Montpellier will play Bourges in the final game of the LFB regular season. A victory will secure them a place in the final four. However if they are defeated then their fate will depend on other results and the calculator.

LFB Logo © LFB Nantes-Rezé travelled to Toulouse and ended the game as a contest by the end of the first quarter (26-9). They went on to win (83-39) with all 10 players getting on the score sheet.

Basket Landes escaped from Union Hainaut Basket with the victory (61-53) and are secured a minimum sixth place finish at the end of the regular season.

Nantes-Rezé can still finish in the top 4 provided they win their final game of the season and other teams lose.

For Basket Landes the equation is even more complicated. But provided Nantes-Rezé and Montpellier lose and they win then they will finish fourth.

Arras do not know how to win any more and unfortunately their supporters take it on the officials and on the opponents. Arras led Bourges Basket (19-11) by the end of the first quarter.

Bruno Blier, the coach from Arras, picked up a technical foul late in the second quarter and his team then collapsed. Bourges scored 12 unanswered points to go into the locker room (37-34) ahead.

The game never took off and was not pleasant to watch but Bourges remained focused and held on to win (68-62).

Challes-les-Eaux had five players in double digits in their victory on the road against Mondeville (69-62). Challes-les-Eaux are now in second place.

Charleville-Mézières gave their supporters a treat in beating the most entertaining team in recent games COB Calais (73-66).

Villeneuve d'Ascq dominated Aix-en-Provence (82-59) to close round 25 of the LFB.
