Lyon BF are almost in the LFB

Lyon BF were given a real test of life in the LFB by Armentières and Mia Fisher in an exciting finish.

Fisher who made her return for Armentières went on a scoring with 7 consecutive points for her side to go in front (58-57) with just over two minutes to play.

Marie-Frédérique Ayissi added 2 more points for the guests, for their largest lead of the game (60-57).

Geraldine Bertal © Dominique BentejacHowever the hero of the day with 27 points was Geraldine Bertal (in picture) who reduced the deficit before a shot from down-town by Candyce Sellers tied the game (62-62).

Both sides turned the ball over before Charline Servage added a couple of points from the free-throw line.

Armentières had one more chance to take the game into overtime but Fisher's attempt failed to drop.

This was the second defeat for Armentières this week as they lost in mid-week to Pau Lacq Orthez (47-58) in the rearranged match from round 13.

After 7 victories, these two defeats have more or less ended the chance of qualifying for the final four.

Reims went into the final quarter leading (67-52) but then had to cope with the three-point shooting from Voiron's Mélanie Venier.

Venier hit four times from behind the arc during the last 10 minutes but missed her last effort to take the game into overtime.

Roche Vendée had a slow start against Perpignan and trailed at the interval (22-29). They started to play better in the third quarter and went into the final one level (42-42).
