FIBA Europe U20 European Championship Women Division A
France's defense of title is over

Russia 81-65 France
Latvia 52-56 Spain

On the semi-final day, Fiba Europe U20 European Championship Women Division A saw France lose against Russia (81-65).

Russia went immediately in front. France were in vain trying to come back.

Russia had four players in double digits with Anna Ostroukhova with 22 points, followed by Tatiana Petrushina with 18 points, while Anastasia Logunova poured in 15 points and Anastasya Shilova contributed 11 points.

France's attack were led by Margaux Okou Zouzouo with 18 points while Laura Datchy and Pauline Thizy had 11 points each.

The second semi-final saw Spain overcome the hosts Latvia (56-52) in a low scoring game. Despite trailing in the first half, their tightened defense in the last five minutes of the last quarter choked Latvia's attackers for Spain to go into the lead for good.

Aneta Steinberga and Sabine Niedola were the only Latvian players in double digits while Spain had Marta Xargay and Amaya Gastaminza with 13 points apiece while Leonor Rodriguez contributed 12 points in their victory.
