32 teams take part in the competition this year, 14 teams from the LFB, 15 teams from NF1 and 3 teams from NF2. The teams were not seeded but split into regional zones.

The draw was conducted by Marie-Noëlle Servage, the "Présidente de la Commission Sportive Fédérale" of the French basketball federation (FFBB) on Wednesday, 25th November 2009.

The semi-final is played in Boé in the Lot-et-Garonne department in the South-west of France.

The two games are played in the arena "Centre Omnisports Jacques Clouché", which accommodates 2000 spectators.
