Nadia Peruch stops basketball to have a baby

Nadia Peruch-Niang at the Open LFB 2009 © LFB Nadia Peruch-Niang was in the NF1 basketball news a lot last summer when she returned from Spain to join Toulouse Métropole Basket in the French second division.

This weekend she will play in her last match for the club against Nantes-Réze. Once the match is over, she will be officially on maternity leave.

Peruch-Niang spent four years at the Illinios State University (NCAA) in America between (1997 and 2001).

She said that her last College match was a very special occasion because her parents came to watch the game.

Niang played for COB Calais and Reims before leaving for Spain in 2005. While in Spain she played in Tenerife, EL Ferol and Leon before returning to France last season.

When Peruch-Niang was not playing basketball she was busy researching on the Afro American women in sport in America.

Peruch-Niang will be supporting Toulouse for the rest of the season and will decide later if she returns to basketball some time in the future.
