Nantes Rezé confirmed their status as favourites for direct promotion this weekend after beating Armentières (74-63) to end their winning streak of seven victories.
A 13-2 run to finish the second period set Nantes Rezé on their way as they went into the interval in front (40-34).They stayed ahead for the rest of the match to record their sixth consecutive victory.
Charleville got back to winning ways with a victory against the CFBB (86-71). Diandra Tchatchouang marked her return to action for the CFBB with the first 5 points of her team. The CFBB, not having not won a match since the departure of Françcois Gomez, looked good for the first three periods before falling away.
Basket Landes maintained their challenge for promotion with a routine victory against Lot et Garonne UST (76-33). Yet Dunkerque missed the opportunity of joining the top 4 as they lost at home to Voiron (60-68).
Limoges hit 10-of-16 in the first half of their match against Racing Strasbourg as they went into the interval with a comfortable lead (36-19). Jessica De Amorim, who is 17 years old and a product of the youth system at Strasbourg, was the player behind Racing’s fight back in the second half of the match. They reduced Limoges’ advantage (59-53). The last two minutes did not go well for Strasbourg as Limoges held their nerve from the free-throw line to win (69-54). This was an important victory for Limoges as they attempted to escape the relegation battle.
Lyon lost at home to Rennes (61-73) whereas La Roche had little trouble in beating Pleyber Christ (83-68). Nice beat Marseille (82-60).
There are no games next week in NF1 as all the clubs are involved in the French Cup.
