FIBA Europe U18 European Championship Women: Just four games on the second day


Jessica Hurd © womensbasketball-in-france.comOn the second day of action at the FIBA Europe Global Vision U18 European Championship Women Division B, only teams from the two groups with five teams were in action.

In Group C England opened their competition with a comfortable victory against Bulgaria (67-52).

Jessica Hurd (left), showing the form that has made her one of the top junior players in England, led the scoring with 21 points while Temitope Fagbenle finished with a double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Romania notched up their second victory in Group C with a hard fought victory against Portugal (64-58) with Cristina Bigica leading the way with 17 points.

In Group A, Finland just won with a buzzer beater by Laura Saarinen to beat Estonia (56-55) while Greece cruised past Switzerland (82-41).
