In the first round of the WNBA 2012 draft 19-year old Mali international Astan Dabo was the ninth pick by the Connecticut Sun who is currently playing for Reims, second division in France. Damiris Dantas from Brazil who is currently playing in Spain was the other non-American to be drafted in the first round at seed 12 by Minnesota. Two Europeans were drafted in the second round with both players having been traded from the clubs that drafted them: At seed 13 Farhiya Abdi from Sweden went to Los Angeles from Tulsa. At seed 20 Nika Baric from Slovenia went to Minnesota from Atlanta. Altanta wasted a draft pick on Isabelle Yacoubou who was last eligible in 2007.

Tarbes' President has not wasted much time in discussing his plans for next season. Cyril Sicsic is his choice for the head coach position, although no contract has been signed. The contracts of Maja Miljkovic and Florence Lepron expire at the end of the season and will not be renewed. Alex Montgomery will also not be coming back. The club is hoping to keep Lizanne Murphy. Pauline Krawczyk has an option to leave because the club did not qualify for EuroLeague Women.
